One game this week resulted in a forfeit and the team did not make their game 1 payment. The team’s next match-up was removed from Week 2 with another match-up (that was originally OFF) taking their place in the schedule. In the event of a tie after (3) 12 minute periods in the regular season, a 3 on 3 five minute overtime will be played (as we have been doing in the last several sessions). Unfortunately I needed to babysit my scorers (and the referees) after (3) games went into a shootout this week.

FYI: I made some minor edits to the schedule in mid-season to accommodate a request that was reasonable. As always please review the schedule prior to alerting your teams of the upcoming week’s games.

I mistakenly scheduled around Thanksgiving in the wrong week. Please see new Weeks 9-10 and some balancing of OFF weeks in your division schedules. As I mentioned earlier most teams will be off more than (1) week each round to accommodate all the teams in the weeks reserved. Plus we got hit with the holidays all during league play this session.

If you use a sub please write them in each game with the scorere. I am not going to include them on the game rosters. If you think they are important to the playoff roster captains need to be responsible each game to write them in with the scorer.

If using Venmo to pay your league fee please pay in full payments ($2000 not 10 payments of $2000). Also the CSHL does not collect from players only the captain of the teams. If you need an accountant go hire one. 😊. Thank you for your understanding.

LEAGUE FEE: $2000 due game #1 (i.e. not $1100). Any team that fails to meet $2000 payment in Week 1 will be in danger of their Week 2 game being cancelled. A match-up that was originally off that week will replace that time slot. Balance is due week 10. Get your houses in order!!
ROSTERS: Rosters (with numbers) are due ASAP. Please check in with scorer during warm-up. If the captain is not present some other team representative must check-in players. Rosters are closed after Week 10. All players eligible for playoffs must have played in weeks 1-10 and (6) total games. No exceptions. Please remember Thayer Arena’s scorebox is across from the benches.

BEER: If you bring beer into the rink conceal it in and conceal empties out to the trash.

The 2023 Summer CSHL went pretty smooth this session with some exceptions . I just wanted to review a couple of issues we need to improve on:
The 2023-23 Winter CSHL has also amended some of the rules. Due to (5) players being suspended indefinitely this summer major penalties are now (3) game suspensions. Fights in West Warwick and a beer can being thrown from the bench (seen on LiveBarn by the rink manager) got us thrown out of that facility. This also cost us some earlier start times during the season. Also any team that is late in payments after the final deadline (that has a postponed or bye week game prior) will be in danger of forfeiting such game. I’ve reached out to other local league directors (as well as Mass. and Conn.) and they have told me they are much more strict. Some teams and even players are sometimes not allowed on the ice due to non-payment. Captains are responsible for collecting fees and making sure their players are acting responsibly on and off the ice. In a nutshell fellas its gone way too far. The 2023 Winter CSHL deposit is due this Friday September 1, 2023. Please make the deadline if your team intends to play so I can start on the schedules. More details soon.

I will begin working on the schedule when I receive all deposits. The deposit secures your team for the upcoming season. If you received a credit in the 2023 Summer your deposit is waived. Teams with a credit were notified. If you sent it in already you can ignore this email. If you do not send in your deposit it is assumed you will not be participating in this session.

It was brought to my attention that underage players have been subbing in. This is an 18 and older league (no high school players). Please don’t make this a problem. Also you must check-in all subs with the scorer. All players need to be identified if participating in a league game.

Please read all league emails and review https://www.usahockey.com/news_article/show/1061121. Reminder: captains must check in each player on their roster including subs (and goalies). All teams must have jerseys of like/contrasting colors with different uniform numbers. NO blank jerseys and similar numbers (i.e. two #10s). Schedule is final. If you have an issue with a game reach out to the other captain. Tuesday and Wednesday 1010pm and Sunday 810pm and 910pm are sometimes available for use if necessary.
